Mack Brown was back in the college football headlines yesterday as the former national champion head coach at Texas is getting back into the game, as Brown was hired as the new coach at the University of North Carolina.
Brown coached at UNC from 1988-97 before heading to Texas, where he won the national championship in 2005. Brown has been out of the game since 2013, serving as an analyst for ESPN since then. How Brown and NDSU intersect is he came to Fargo in August of 2016, when he was assigned the FCS Kickoff game between the Bison and Charleston Southern.
I had a chance to interview Brown the day before the game and asked him a variety of topics on NDSU and its future in the FCS. I don’t believe I had a chance to post the interview on the blog, so with him being in the news today, thought it was as good a time as any to post. Enjoy.
