The 2018 Power 5 Options

The 2018 Power 5 Options

Now that North Dakota State’s long awaited trip to Iowa is in the books, that leaves just two games against FBS opponents for the Bison, September 5th, 2020 at Oregon and August 31st, 2024 at Colorado. NDSU will receive a combined 1.35 million dollars for both games.

NDSU will not play an FBS school in 2017, already with a road game scheduled at Eastern Washington and a home game with Robert Morris on the docket. The Bison are looking for a home game to wrap up that schedule (and may be close to signing it). 2018 is wide open right now, Delaware is locked in for the season opener on September 1st, but after that the Bison are looking for a game.

For the purpose of this blog and with the help of the great site FBschedules.com, I looked at available dates for the Power 5 teams (excluding the Big Ten of course). I didn’t look at the Sun Belt, American, Conference USA, MAC or Mountain West because I don’t believe NDSU would get a call back from those schools. Here’s who’s still open:

  • Florida State (9/8, 9/15 or 9/22)
  • Georgia Tech (9/15 or 9/22)
  • Miami (9/8)
  • Syracuse (9/8 or 9/15)
  • Oklahoma (9/15)
  • Oklahoma State (9/22)
  • TCU (9/8 or 9/22)
  • Arizona (9/15 or 9/22)
  • Arizona State (9/22)
  • Arkansas (9/8 or 9/22)
  • Florida (9/8 or 9/22)
  • Georgia (9/8 or 9/22)
  • Ole Miss (9/8, 9/15 or 9/22)
  • South Carolina (9/8 or 9/22)
  • Texas A&M (9/15)
