ramblings and rumblings

Some notes from Craig Bohl today…He said the offense worked very well in a 2 minute drill this morning, and Walker continues to chuck it to the right guys at the right time.  Good news for fans since Travis White (see next year) wont’ be in the mix for a while.  The young Heckendorf looks like the real deal, just needs a little polish (that’s the shine polish not like polish sausage)–then again he may need something to eat, too, but that’s not why we’re here….anyway Nick Jackson (slowed by injury) and John Majeski (yes, there’s been a John M. sighting) are now battling for the #3 receiver.  Jackson if healthy is the guy as of now.

Bohl also told me the number one defense has exceeded his expectations (linebackers looked good to me last week), but he’s concerned about the number 2 guys.  Also today Scott Miller reports that Richard Bowman, the true freshman CB who is already the #3 corner from the buzz, had a real nice pick in practice and the coaches are looking at him like he could be a serious player.

Only one more week until it’s Bohl vs. the Boll Weevils.  I’m still thinking this looks like a 7-4 team, but the White injury concerns me as does the defensive depth.  6-5 certainly a possibility.
