The college football offseason begins in earnest for North Dakota State on Monday after spring ball wraps up. It’s a time when the players will go home after school wraps up, the coaches will get some time off and on the administration side, when things start to heat up.
For the Bison, they actually sit in good shape on the schedule front with 2019 already set and two games in the can for 2020. Athletic Director Matt Larsen told me last week that the school is trying to continue schedule FBS games, but also will be creative with future schedule opportunities, like in the form of games like Target Field or potentially seven home games becoming more consistent. I did ask about scheduling a higher caliber of FBS game: “we’ve reached out to top 25 FBS teams, they’ve said there’s some local FCS teams we want to play and don’t necessarily want to play NDSU.”
I’ve created a spreadsheet to keep track of non-conference games for the Missouri Valley and some other schools that fans in this area would be curious in following. Bookmark this site as I update at it as teams add games to future schedules. Keep an eye on Indiana State, where the Sycamores have FBS games scheduled for the next eight years.
