2017 FCS Bracketology: 4.0

2017 FCS Bracketology: 4.0

The opening weekend of full conference play didn’t disappoint with some interesting results. The Mo Valley still has six teams in my field, Western Illinois’s close loss to South Dakota doesn’t knock them out of the field and this week’s showdown between USD and Youngstown is going to be fabulous.

Elon has risen into the top eight after back to back wins and looks like a playoff team in the Colonial.

Here’s the field after five weeks:

  • Missouri Valley: NDSU
  • Big Sky: Weber State
  • Colonial: James Madison
  • Big South: Kennesaw State
  • Northeast: St. Francis

  • Patriot: Colgate
  • Pioneer: San Diego
  • SoCon: Wofford
  • Southland: Central Arkansas

AT-LARGE (14)

  • New Hampshire
  • Villanova
  • Illinois State
  • South Dakota
  • Youngstown State
  • South Dakota State
  • Western Illinois
  • Western Carolina
  • Samford
  • The Citadel
  • Sam Houston State

NEW TEAMS IN: St. Francis, Colgate, Western Carolina, Samford, Stony Brook

TEAMS OUT: UT Martin, Tennessee State, Richmond, Duquesne, Holy Cross

Interesting to see WCU in the same bracket as NDSU. Potential for them to finally visit here after all. Weren’t they the team that bought out a visit here?
